Specification for general purpose stools and anaesthetists' chairs for hospital use1 Scope This British Standard specifies the basic requirements relating to materials, dimensions and construction, electrical safety precautions, finish and marking for general purpose stools suitable for surgeons' and anaesthetists' use in hospitals. Additional safety requirements are given for the addition of a top to form a chair, but the choice of design is left to the purchaser. Stools and chairs are available in two height ranges.
